The FERSS 2022 Scholarship Winner

Aaliyah Melton – Woodbridge, VA

The Foundation for Eleanora R Spratt Scholarships (FERSS) is pleased to announce that we have awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Aaliyah Melton after reviewing and evaluating applicants’ community involvement, work experience, demonstrated leadership, and a personal essay.

“On behalf of the Foundation, we congratulate Aaliyah Melton for her excellent school accomplishments and personal self-improvement. We are always delighted to provide support to committed students, as they represent future leaders in our communities. I am sure that my mother, Dr. Eleanora R. Spratt, whose legacy of education and service to students, would be proud of Ms. Melton’s growth and determination as we commemorate another rising star with one of our scholarships. Aaliyah, we wish you much success in your upcoming semester at Norfolk State University.”

WELCOME TO FERSS

A few words from Foundation of Eleanora R Spratt Scholarships for 2023:

Foundation of Eleanora R Spratt Scholarships (FERSS) provides salutations to you, your friends and family regarding best wishes for a joyful 2023.  Considering the economic challenges of the previous year, FERSS is grateful for having the ability to grant scholarships to deserving students who are pursuing educational or professional certification.  FERSS was founded on the belief that education is a major key component to developing meaningful change and we are committed to providing financial support this effort.

In April of 2023, FERSS will accept applications submission in anticipation of awarding several $1000 scholarships. Most importantly, we truly want to hear how you are contributing to your community.   Tell us about the activities you have been involved in and how you’ve significantly helped others or encouraged members of our society to embrace diversity, inclusion, and well-being.

We look forward to you joining us on a regular basis so we can learn new ideas and techniques on how to work with the ever-evolving world we live in today.

As you set out to accomplish your goals, remember these words of encouragement to keep you grounded: “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”  Arthur Ashe

We are excited with the possibility that we will be hearing from you this year.

Wishing you the best,

Evelyn Spain, M.B.A., LSSGB, Certified Planning Commissioner, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Consultant
